Enter a URL
A domain name is only the label.
Behind it is infrastructure — IP addresses, DNS, and often a hosting provider or CDN.
This free tool helps you uncover those hosting clues for any public domain.

Enter a domain or full URL and run the check.
Typical results may include:
Use one domain for a quick look, or multiple if the tool supports batch input.
These are related, but not the same thing:
Hosting
Where the website files/application are served from (shared server, VPS, cloud instance, etc.).
DNS / nameservers
The system that points the domain to the right IP. Nameservers can belong to a different company than the host.
CDN / reverse proxy
Services like Cloudflare can sit in front of the origin server. In that case, the visible IP may belong to the CDN, not the real host.
A good hosting check tries to separate “what the public internet sees” from “where the origin may actually be.”
When a site is fully fronted by a CDN, the origin host may remain hidden. That is expected behavior, not a tool failure.
Migration planning
Confirm where a site currently sits before moving DNS or servers.
Competitor infrastructure notes
See whether similar sites rely on shared hosting, cloud platforms, or CDN protection.
Trust / due diligence checks
Verify basic hosting claims when reviewing a site purchase, partnership, or client environment.
Troubleshooting support
Pair hosting clues with DNS and status checks when a site is slow, unreachable, or recently moved.
Security context
Hosting and IP data can support wider investigation, especially alongside blacklist and malware checks.
| What you see | What it may mean |
|---|---|
| Major cloud provider | Site likely on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc. |
| Shared hosting brand | Common for smaller sites; performance varies |
| CDN name only | Origin server may be masked |
| Different NS and host brands | DNS and hosting are split across providers |
| “Unknown” provider | Small/regional host, new range, or incomplete data |
Hosting quality is not proven by brand name alone. Configuration, caching, and server resources matter just as much.
For deeper DNS detail, follow up with a full DNS records check.
Is the Domain Hosting Checker free?
Yes. No account is required for standard lookups.
Why does a site show Cloudflare instead of the real host?
Because Cloudflare (or another CDN) is the public endpoint. The origin host is intentionally shielded.
Are nameservers the same as hosting?
Not always. Many sites use one company for DNS and another for hosting.
Can I check subdomains?
Yes, when supported — and it’s useful, because subdomains may live on different infrastructure.
Does hosting provider choice affect SEO directly?
Not by brand name. Indirectly, performance, uptime, and server response can influence user experience and technical SEO.
Note: Hosting detection is based on public DNS/IP intelligence. When a CDN or reverse proxy is in place, only the edge provider may be visible.
